Your family emergency plan is going to change when your expecting. There are extra precautions and considerations that should be accounted for in your planning.
Having on call help is important since
you may be unable to pick up anything including a child – update on-call help
of any changes in conditions (bed rest, c-section, etc) they will need a copy
of your full plan also
Add baby to plans now rather than
later - who grabs the kits, who grabs the baby. Meeting locations, what to do in an earthquake or fire?
Include birth plan and hospital
routes - this is an emergency as well.
Review each trimester - your condition can change so review your plan to be sure you've covered everything and that it still works. Add Junior at 3rd trimester to all plans
Practice labor techniques and take
a birthing class
Get to know your neighborhood
midwives - if you can't get to the hospital you have a familiar person who can be there to help and is familiar with your family and condition.
